Summary:

The Training & Development Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of our attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. This individual will collaborate with various departments within the firm to identify training needs, create engaging training materials, and deliver effective training sessions. Additionally, this role is responsible for the design, development, management, and maintenance of the Firm’s learning management system (LMS).

Key Responsibilities:

Training Needs Analysis:

Conduct thorough assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs within the firm.

Collaborate with Professional Development Committee and managers to understand specific training requirements for different positions or individuals.

Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.

Analyze performance data, feedback, and evaluations to determine areas of improvement.

Training Program Development:

Design and develop comprehensive training programs that align with organizational goals and objectives.

Create engaging training materials, including presentations, handouts, e-learning modules, and other resources.

Incorporate adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to ensure effective knowledge transfer.

Training Delivery:

Facilitate training sessions using a variety of delivery methods, such as classroom instruction, virtual platforms, workshops, and on-the-job coaching.

Deliver training content in an engaging and interactive manner to maximize participant involvement and knowledge retention.

Adapt training techniques to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.

Evaluation and Feedback:

Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, surveys, and feedback mechanisms.

Analyze data collected from evaluations to measure the impact of training on employee performance.

Continuously improve training programs based on feedback received from participants and stakeholders.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and insights for developing accurate and up-to-date training content.

Liaise with department heads, managers, and HR personnel to ensure alignment between training initiatives and organizational objectives.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their training needs and provide appropriate solutions.

Training Administration:

Manage training logistics, including scheduling, venue arrangement, participant registration, and materials preparation.

Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and evaluations.

Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in training methodologies.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or Organizational Development).

7-10 years’ experience in training and development.

Expertise with learning management systems (Workday, Blackboard, Cornerstone).

Experience with video recording software (Ice Cream Recorder, Clipchamp, Camtasia).

Proficiency with Articulate 360.

CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent Development) from ATD preferred.

Experience in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

Ability to adapt training content to different audiences and learning styles.

Proficiency in using various training delivery methods and technologies.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate training effectiveness.

Work Environment:

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This role operates in an office environment with rare exposure to airborne dust, moderate noise levels and seasonal environmental conditions for heating/cooling.

The compensation range for this position is $100,000–$125,000 annually, plus bonus potential, representing our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, skill set, and office location. Additionally, relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
