Maintenance Technician
Full Time
** Pay rate at $15.50/hour **

Maintenance Tech is responsible for completing all maintenance/grounds keeping for the Campus and additional duties within the grounds of the Campus. While maintaining the grounds and facilities, this position is responsible for following Federal, State, and local laws, regulations and guidelines governing the Campus.
What will I do as a Maintenance Technician with Genacross?
Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Executive Director and Director of Maintenance.
Maintain orderly and consistent system of record keeping including paper files.
Cooperates with Senior Management personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that the property and related services are adequately maintained to meet the needs of residents.
Treats residents, residents' family members, visitors and fellow employees with courtesy, respect and dignity. Creates and maintains a calm, warm positive atmosphere of personal interest.
Keeps Executive Director and Director of Maintenance informed in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improving services.
Provides proper notice to residents before entering residents' apartment.
Work with Executive Director and Director of Maintenance to turn around apartments in 10 days in order to maintain maximum occupancy.
Maintains compliance with HUD/ADA/OASHA/NFPA Building regulations under the direction of Senior Management.
Places orders, obtains competitive pricing on purchases and services as directed by the Executive Director and Maintenance Director.
Accurately codes and forwards invoices promptly.
Completes plumbing, painting, electrical work, minor construction, dry wall work, landscaping, and trash removal at housing sites.
Works with vendors and contractors as needed.
Maintains and upkeeps all required logs.
Prioritizes, schedules, and efforts are adjusted to meet specific customer needs.
Completes work orders within 72 hours of receipt.
Problems related to safety, cleanliness and comfort of resident and work areas are reported and/or corrected.
Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated. Uses only equipment trained to use. Operates all equipment in safe manner. Follows established infection control precautions and procedures.
Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations.
Reports allegations of abuse/neglect and reports, as appropriate, to proper organization leadership.
Reports hazardous incidents, including but not limited to, injuries, equipment, etc. to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
Implements and follows disaster plans in the event of an emergency.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age.
Current State of Ohio STNA certification preferred but not required.
One to two years of experience in long-term care setting preferred.
Familiarity with basic computer skills. Ability to learn new software applications as required by the position.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives, managers, supervisors and direct care staff, as well as residents, families and physicians.
Understands directions; communicates and responds to inquiries promptly.
