What is the scope of this role?
Manage implementation and Support of production and non-production Application environments, including maintenance of infrastructure design documents and diagrams
Plan and manage execution of Production Release Readiness, Operation Readiness Tests and Disaster Recovery Exercise
Manage system health monitoring including capacity, performance, data retention procedures
Maintain environment capacity plan. Plan and manage configuration audits
Drive investigation and identify optimal restoration path during major production incidents
Conduct Root Cause Analysis. Deliver RCA to stakeholders. Own and control implementation of action items
Manage problems related to Application environments, control implementation of action items
Work with Customer Support, Professional Services, QA and Development teams to resolve Environmental issues
Interface with Business and Clients regarding environment operations and maintenance.
Interface with 3rd party vendors for issues, bugs, etc.
Implement Performance Management process according to best practices
Identify requirements and manage implementation of automated procedures and tools.
Identify requirements and manage implementation of monitors, checks, dashboards and alerts.
Analyze risks and impact of all solution change requests. Propose technical solutions. Manage PoCs
Define, implement and improve maintenance procedures. Define data retention, backup-restore, disaster recovery policies and procedures
Identify requirements in KT and trainings to team members
Identify technical and people resource requirements
Create team shift-roster
Identify technical, process and resources risks. Propose mitigation plan. Track known risks.
Skills Required
The Technical Manager should have 10+ years of experience with the following abilities
Supporting large scale, mission critical 7 x 24 solutions
Oracle Weblogic, Java application deployment and configuration including highly available configurations.
Understanding architecture and principles of the Oracle DB and Middleware operation and administration.
Oracle DBA/WL experience
PostgreSQL DBA experience is a plus
Excellent troubleshooting skills including Java and DB performance issues analysis.
Enterprise Linux systems administration at level to understand principles of resource allocation and monitoring, system startup sequence, system configuration.
Understanding principles of TCP/IP, routing, application network traffic balancing and failover
Experience with micro services architecture (RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes) is a plus
Experience in managing applications with external authentication providers (i.e. LDAP, MS AD, SSO)
Understand principles of PKI/Certificates
Understanding of Continuous Delivery and DevOps methods;
Experience with DevOps tools Jenkins, Ansible, Git
Experience in implementing monitoring of the business applications.
Excellent knowledge of ITIL
Telecom -OSS/BSS domain experience ( desirable)
Competences
Team leadership skills, sufficient to lead implementation and maintenance of Application stack environments per design specifications
Excellent communication and team building abilities
Leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution
Business-like presence and ability to interact professionally with Customers
Fluent oral and written English.
Education
University Deegree on Computer Sceince or related fields
