CoreVest is the leading private lender to residential real estate investors nationwide. We provide long-term mortgage loans for rental properties and short-term financing for acquisitions and fix/flip projects. This position will assist in staying current on compliance with laws and regulations, assist in several responsibilities including providing support to frontline operations, Fair Lending, HMDA, BSA, AML, and OFAC processes. In addition, this position will support in house legal team with loan closing matters on new loan originations.
Responsibilities & Duties
Participate in the definition and development of compliance policies, procedures, and programs
Prepare and file annual reporting (HMDA)
Prepare and file quarterly/annual NMLS reporting
Assist in-house counsel with closing commercial real estate transactions
Interface with and walk borrower teams through due diligence processes
Collect due diligence documents from borrower teams
Review organizational documents and draft organizational charts
Review title documents including surveys, proformas, commitments, and endorsements
Upload transaction documents and details to loan origination and record keeping systems
Interface with outside counsel to deliver due diligence and assist on transactions
Maintain files, forms, and guidelines
Assist Capital Markets and Asset Management teams in finding, reviewing, and summarizing documentation
Ad Hoc reporting/review
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or NALA Paralegal Certification
Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage compliance
Familiarity with mortgage loan origination processes
Understanding compliance best practices
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficient Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Demonstrated accountability for actions and decisions
A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $70,000-$85,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
