POSITION SUMMARY:

The Regional QAPI Coordinator is committed to delivering quality, evidence-based correctional healthcare. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance, driving continuous performance improvement, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability. The Regional QAPI Coordinator will oversee site-level quality improvement activities, coordinate QAPI activities and feedback sessions with the Site Health Services Administer and or the Site CQI Coordinators. The Regional QAPI Coordinator will manage interdisciplinary meetings, analyze data trends, and assist sites in the implementation of Vital Core Action Plans in alignment with Vital Core’s QAPI program and national standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Lead and maintain the region’s QAPI Committee, ensuring all required meetings are held, documented, and compliant with corporate and/or region’s expectations.

Submit required reports and deliverables as required by contract, corporate directives, policies, and procedures.

Facilitate completion of monthly screens, chart audits, license verifications, and grievance reviews.

Assist site H.S. A’s and or site QAPI Coordinators in maintaining and submitting VCAP logs (VitalCore Corrective Action Plan) to the corporate QAPI team upon initiation and with updates, as required.

Analyze trends using audit data, incident reports, grievances, and patient outcomes to identify areas needing improvement.

Use tools such as FOCUS-PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, and VCAP to guide performance improvement projects.

Coordinate and provide QAPI education and training to the site coordinators and staff in the region.

Promote a positive non-punitive culture of quality and compliance. Participate in Corporate and Regional QAPI activities.

Collaborate with the Corporate QAPI team in developing monthly screens and other QAPI processes Maintain strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

An active Nursing License and/or degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field is required.

RN license or Masters preferred

Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance, healthcare compliance, or performance improvement (correctional healthcare experience a plus).

Knowledge of NCCHC, ACA, CMS, ADA, and/or OSHA healthcare standards strongly preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint

Experience with EHR systems preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Must be a supportive team member, who contributes to and demonstrates teamwork and team concept. Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Continuously conducts complex interpersonal interactions, makes moderately complex decisions, analyzes and solves complex problems, and manages multiple tasks. Makes frequent use of teamwork skills, discretion, and occasionally mentors/trains new employees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, climb stairs; use hands to finger, handle feel; and must regularly lift in excess of 50 lbs. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; and must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
