This role is performed within a office environment, overseen by the Director of Payroll, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

All staff are expected to fully adhere to the ethical standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, continuously demonstrating a strong understanding of the tasks and responsibilities their roles require.

JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Payroll Supervisor Salary Schedule: PCSD Classified Department: Business Services Job Code: 546604 Reports To: Director of Payroll Work Schedule: Annual/8 hr.

Grade/Level: BSCRD FLSA: Exempt Primary Function: Performs specialized and technical functions in assembling, calculating, verifying, and preparing school payroll including employee Federal and State withholding taxes, Social Security and Medicare taxes.

Supervise time entry function of payroll coordinator.

Process garnishments, levies, and bankruptcies.

Review HR data input and load HR data into payroll for payroll access.

Assist in the implementation of new payroll software and upgrades.

Create check request for miscellaneous payroll deductions and perform account recons.

Working Conditions: Physical Demands: Office Environment Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard Constant Interruptions Hearing and speaking to exchange information Seeing to read a variety of materials Sitting for extended periods of time Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and three (3) years' experience in bookkeeping and payroll operations and/or three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting practices.

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field, higher degree, or CPA certification preferred.

Effective organizational and planning skills Strong communication skills General office skills The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

Essential Functions: Assist school payroll representatives with entries, guidelines, deadlines and software training Assist Director of Payroll with payroll processing and any other request Supervise timecard entries and test set up of system as needed Process Garnishments, Levies and Bankruptcies with adequate notification to employees Assist Payroll Coordinator with setup of new hire information Load HR data into payroll for access to new hire employees - Check for accuracy of HR data input Assist Payroll Benefits Accountant with employee benefit setup and account recons Monitor leave balances of employees Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies Interact effectively with staff members, teachers, and administrators, using tact and good judgement Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular predictable and punctual manner Assist in the implementation of a new payroll software system and payroll software upgrades Create check request and perform account recon for miscellaneous payroll deductions Proficient in Microsoft programs and PowerSchool software preferred Knowledge and compliance of payroll laws and regulations Supervise Records Management Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee Applicants will be selected for interview.
