Our Vehicle Engineering team, focused on Vehicle and Product Systems in Pittsburgh, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to guide the mechanical design and fabrication efforts for our next-generation vehicle prototypes and systems.

This role will be instrumental in developing mechatronic systems for automated driving and integrating them into vehicles through collaboration with various internal and external partners.

This is a hybrid onsite position.

What You'll Be Doing * Design and fabricate mechanical components and systems for next-generation benchtop and in-vehicle prototypes, such as mechatronic systems for automated driving * Work with customers, suppliers, and technology partners to integrate systems in vehicles * Perform initial testing and debugging of newly-assembled systems * Plan and implement engineering development activities * Lead design effort for vehicle build projects * Provide technical mentorship and guidance to cross functional team members * Create testing plans for vehicles and subsystems * Source suppliers and parts and creates documentation for outsourced components * Create 3D CAD models and sufficient for manufacturing of mechanical components * Create bills of materials and other assembly documentation * Develop and document requirements for prototype and production vehicle systems What We Are Looking For * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field * 8+ years relevant experience preferably in the automotive robotics or automation fields * Experience designing and fabricating prototypes using CAD tools and manual methods * Ability to operate machine tools (mill, press, CNC, etc.), as well as standard mechanics and power tools * Comfortable debugging, disassembling, modifying, and installing electrical and mechanical systems in vehicles * Experience with 3D printing tools and rapid prototyping techniques * Experience with manufacturing BOM and ECN process * Ability to work effectively within rigid design, integration, and time constraints * Experience in specifying, integrating, troubleshooting, and testing electronics, motors, and sensors * Ability to interface globally with persons of all levels and abilities, including both internal and external teams, to achieve project success.

This may include occasional work outside of standard hours to accommodate international collaboration.

* Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to balance and prioritize multiple diverse projects * Experience with analysis tools such as Ansys and Solidworks or Catia V5 This position may require the use of power tools.

Power tools are defined by OSHA as any electric, pneumatic, liquid fuel, hydraulic, and powder-actuated tool.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to convey and detect communication.

The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary at times for up to 50% of working time, move in designated working areas; & operate and use office equipment.
