Summary

The Quality Engineer reports directly to the QAM and will help manage the effectiveness of manufacturing processes and administration of the company's standard quality operating procedures. This position effectively leads the company's core operations: QMS processes and product quality. Regarding the position of quality, the QE is directly responsible for supporting quality control within the company's manufacturing systems, assisting department managers in support of quality control in the supply chain, and being involved in the quality management processes. The QE will monitor and test the quality of products while ensuring safety and compliance standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and create quality documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary

Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions

Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and new information

Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track

Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filled, and stored

Direct project correspondence by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and emails

Communicate with customers to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives

Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures

Professionally handle incoming requests from customers and ensure that issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly

Thoroughly and efficiently gather customer information, access and fulfill customer needs, and document customer interactions

Provide quality service and support in a variety of areas including but not limited to: Sales Orders, Work Orders, Quality Assurance, Invoicing, Certifications, and other duties as assigned

Responsible for compiling and generating reports as they relate to sales, production, and quality

Operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers while following Company Confidentiality requirements

Utilize computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet, and file maintenance programs to enter, store, and/or retrieve information

Maintain and update filing and database systems manually or using a computer 8. Provide administrative support to Sales and Quality Assurance Departments

Manage time to determine priorities to accomplish a broad range of activities effectively

Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer’s experience

Communicate professionally, respectfully, and courteously with all employees, customers, and others we may work with.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing organization, including knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and other recognized international quality systems.

Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).

Strong industry experience in accurate product/service quality assessments

Preferred experience includes knowledge of Quality system methodologies including 8D, Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, etc.

Thorough understanding of the company’s Quality Control System.
