JOB SUMMARY:
We’re seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our growing team at a leading value-based
primary care healthcare company. In this role, you’ll design and maintain scalable data infrastructure that powers critical clinical, operational, and business insights. You’ll work with a variety of healthcare data sources—like EMRs, claims data—to build pipelines that support better patient care and data-driven decision making. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support clinical and operational analytics.
Integrate data from various sources including EMRs (e.g., Epic, eCW), claims systems, patient engagement tools, and external data partners.
Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across the ecosystem with rigorous data validation and monitoring.
Optimize and maintain our data warehouse for performance, security, and reliability.
Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, clinicians, and product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions related to data needs and data navigation.
Develop, define and enforce data engineering best practices and contribute to architectural decisions.
Partner with DevOps to deploy data services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Requirements:
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in the healthcare or health tech industry.
Strong experience with relational and distributed databases (e.g., SQL Server, Postgres, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
Skilled in data pipeline tools and orchestration frameworks like Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar.
Proficient in Python or Scala, and SQL.
Proficient with Dot Net Core
Experience with HL7, FHIR, claims data, and EHR/EMR systems.
Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, PHI security, and healthcare data privacy principles.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Master’s Degree (optional, but a plus) in a related field.
Certifications (preferred but not required):
Microsoft Azure Data Engineer
AWS Certified Solutions Architect / AWS Certified Data Analytics
Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
Certified in Healthcare Information Technology (CHIT)
Other relevant certifications in Data Engineering, Big Data, or Cloud Technologies
