PAY GRADE & FLSA: 6; Exempt

*This role will be located in-person at one of our locations: Springfield, MO; Quad Cities; Cedar Rapids, IA; Des Moines, IA*

JOB SUMMARY:

The Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing end user support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment. This role will install, diagnose, repair, maintain and upgrade all PC hardware and technology-related equipment to ensure optimal performance. The Desktop Support Engineer will troubleshoot and solve complex and elevated technology problems in a timely, professional and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create, maintain and document Windows images to be deployed to end-user computing devices.

Leverage Microsoft Intune/Entra for automation, application packaging, and policy configuration as well establishing processes to automate and maintain endpoints.

Assist team members on endpoint patching and updates to workstations.

Ensure all security patching is completed in a timely manner in partnership with the Cybersecurity Team.

Collaborate with leadership to establish end-user hardware standards for the organization.

Manage and maintain licensing for enterprise productivity applications.

Manage inventory of IT assets, including procurement, asset auditing, and quality assurance.

Vendor relationships.

Provide elevated troubleshooting to resolve complex hardware and software issues.

Offer expert guidance and serve as the primary escalation point for the Desktop Support Team in resolving complex technical issues.

Provide Smart Hands support to assist other support groups such as Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Server Teams.

Provide support to internal clients with video conference room equipment and ensure technology needs are met for meetings, conferences, etc.

Participate in the creation and updating of Knowledge Base articles located in the IT Service Management platform.

Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Three to five years of corporate desktop support experience supporting Windows Operating Systems.

Three years' experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

One to three years’ experience using Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft Intune.

One to three years’ experience with creating and managing endpoint group policies.

One year experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including wireless (Wi-Fi and cellular).

Experience using ticketing ITSM tools and experience with HP hardware.

Experience supporting financial services platforms preferred.

Strong customer service skills including the capability to establish rapport with internal clients.

Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are performed in a professional office environment.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Lifting and transporting heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

Occasional evening and weekend work to support special events.

Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.
