City Wide is looking for an experienced tradesman with the ambition to lead projects and teams completing building maintenance and tenant improvement projects. The position is an opportunity to utilize your knowledge of the construction industry and develop your leadership experience within the construction industry.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of both subcontracted and self-performed light construction and repair projects. This position requires experience completing tenant improvement and maintenance projects across various project sizes and complexities with different building types and industries, ranging from biotech to education. The Assistant Project Manager must possess the individual skill sets to complete projects or manage a team of employees and multiple subcontractors. They must possess the maturity and customer service skills to update the client throughout the project. Additional responsibilities include procuring supplies, job site safety, and ensuring high client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Review the Project plans and understand the scope of the assigned work.

• Provide timely status reports to stakeholders.

• Supervise up to 2 to 5 employees or subcontractors per project.

• Effectively manage Subcontractors and vendors to fulfill project needs.

• Be effective at scheduling and multitasking.

• Have a strong knowledge of building details and products.

• Be skilled at pressure washing, painting, floor coatings, drywall, steel stud framing, taping, grid & tile, doors & hardware.

• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing company standards, procedures, and job site rules, complying with OSHA regulations, and conducting weekly onsite safety meetings.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience with a commercial general contracting or other trades; must have worked on tenant improvements.

• Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project construction schedules. Assists subcontractors in interpreting details.

• Ability to provide direction and resolve problems amongst subcontractors.

• Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their job title; accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on work commitments.

• Highly detail-oriented and excellent follow-through on commitments.

• Positive and outgoing personality; great at building relationships.

• Willing to flex schedule to work nights or weekends if the client requires.

• Excellent verbal and strong written communication skills. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of CRM databases and project management software.

• LEED, first aid/CPR training, and 10-/30-hour OSHA certification preferred but not mandatory.

• A High School diploma or GED is required.
