A leading provider of building material supplies in southern Denver, specializing in serving professional contractors, is seeking a Lumber / Building Materials Estimator. We offer a full-line of building materials and have a highly trained and knowledgeable staff ready to assist customers at every stage of their projects.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Lumber / Materials Estimator, you will need a strong background in building materials take-offs and plan comprehension, along with a solid understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the building construction industry. Effective communication with the field and internal departments is crucial to succeed in this role.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Performing building material take-offs for residential designs in accordance with company policies and local building codes.
Reviewing construction documents and identifying materials needed for bidding.
Correcting any inaccuracies in the materials list.
Preparing material take-off documentation for contractor proposals.
Collaborating closely with outside sales representatives on all aspects of the project plan.
Following up on the status of take-offs and assisting outside sales reps with sales or project management.
Providing data for the transfer of the current take-off program for other staff members.
Training contractors on compiling specifications and proper material usage.
Maintaining and updating take-off software programs.
Reviewing actual vs. estimated material usage at the completion of projects.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
To qualify for this role, you must have prior experience in building materials estimating and be a self-starter with a keen eye for detail.

Prefer experience with PlanSwift software.
At least 2 years of experience in building materials estimating.
