Position: Modeling Simulation and Training Team Product Owner

Location: Huntsville, AL

Status: Full-time exempt

Position Description:

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Modeling, Simulation and Training (MST) Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office.

The MST PO will be responsible for the following:

Reviewing/understanding Systems Engineering concepts/designs/algorithms, working with Program Management to set priorities for new capabilities and defects, and providing guidance to the MST team for each Program Increment (PI) and Sprint.

Creating and presenting technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership.

Report on status; recommended courses of actions, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Support the team in the development of acceptance criteria for MST tasks and stories, as well as be responsible for the verification of work performed by the MST team.

Ideal candidate will have:

Good understanding of modeling and simulations for sensors and weapon systems and general knowledge of scenario changes (defense planning, threats) needed to test new command and control capability.

Ability to create and maintain a prioritized product backlog of user stories and tasks and be able to work directly with the Agile software developers to meet deadlines and program objectives.

Selected candidate must be within recruiting distance or willing to relocate at their own expense to Huntsville, AL.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, the sciences, mathematics, or a related field

Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above or related experience

US Citizenship Required; Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher

Previous experience with/knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS

The ability to "move out" and champion your ideas, architectures, designs, enthusiasm; independent critical thinking; and possessing a team attitude.

Experience in JIRA/Confluence

Possessing an Agilist Certification

ABET Accredited degree

Security Requirements:

Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
