Data Science Lead (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ):

Design and develop advanced statistical and analytics methods for prediction and optimization including a wide variety of machine learning technologies (logit, regression, decision trees/forests, boosted models, clustering, etc.) for purposes including explorative analysis, survival analysis, segmentation, prediction and recommendation systems. Identify, source, transform and join public, proprietary and internal data sources. Model large structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., financial transactional, time-series, text, speech/audio and image). Perform analysis and implement software solutions that maximize business impact. Oversee the creation, implementation, and delivery of an end-to-end technical solution for a data science project by guiding technical staff. Prepare and present written and verbal reports to key stakeholders. Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholder. Translate business data and problem statements to suitable methods and evaluate the fit. Provide timely guidance to junior staff in applying theory to practice on a day-to-day basis in business context, anticipate roadblocks, and represent the technical side of the project at all meetings. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, and demonstrated technical leadership in makes decisions.

Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. $165,800 per year.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field and 1 year of related work experience.

Must have 1 year of experience in:

Python;

SQL;

NoSQL;

AWS Computing;

AWS Sagemaker; and,

Applying statistical machine learning techniques and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques: logit, regression, random forests, boosted machines, clustering, large scale language models

including deep learning, and convolution neural networks.
