Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks an Experienced Design and Analysis (Electronic System Design & Analysis) Engineer to join our F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G Mission Systems team in Berkeley, MO.
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for the integration of new and upgraded subsystems within the weapon system’s avionics suite enabling new and improved future capabilities in the Super Hornet and Growler fleet.
In addition to system design and test, you will coordinate schedule and technical issues with internal stakeholders and external customers. This could potentially also include helping to organize and lead Agile teams as Product Owner or Scrum Master.
Applicants must have the ability and desire to thrive in a fluid environment where you will help shape the path to success. Experience with military avionics technology is a plus.
Position Responsibilities:
Works with internal stakeholders and external customers to support execution of ongoing hardware-software integration efforts in a fast-paced Agile environment
Support communication across Agile teams as well as multiple engineering disciplines and program leadership
Receives customer requests and analyzes them with consideration ford technical impacts and translates into actionable requirements
Monitors internal and external supplier dependencies to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Provides support and solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
Supports productivity improvements through Lean principles as well as using best practices and sharing lessons learned
Understands and works with F/A-18 functional counterparts (software and hardware teams, SEIT, BGS) to ensure handoffs are clearly defined to deliver products that meet requirements and are delivered on schedule and within cost
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Level 3:5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years experience with a Masters
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry
Experience with electronic system design, code and test
Experience in developing or integrating Mission Systems for military aircraft
Experience with requirements management tools, including experience with model-based system engineering (MBSE) development practices.
Experience with (requirements management tools)
Experience navigating Interface Control Documents (ICD’s)
Experience designing requirements with customers and documenting them
Experience with data analysis of system data
Experience working on an agile team and using Jira
Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills.
Typical Education/Experience:
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
