JOB SUMMARY
The Elk Grove Park District is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Multimedia Graphic Designer to join our dynamic marketing team. This position plays a vital role in producing visually engaging content across digital, video and print platforms to elevate the Park Districts brand and drive community engagement.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional visual communicator with a strong design background, a passion for storytelling through multimedia, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In addition to creating high-quality assets, this role leads the organization of the Park Districts photo library, oversees the photography and video capture schedule, and supports the execution of digital marketing across social media, email, and digital signage platforms.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Design and Develop Creative Content
Create visually compelling digital assets including social media graphics, email templates, and digital display slides, as well as print materials as needed. Ensure all designs align with the Park Districts brand identity and support overall marketing goals.
Oversee Photo Library & MediaManage and maintain the Park Districts digital photo library. Lead the photography and video opportunity schedule to ensure consistent capture of programs, events, and promotional assets. Edit images and video clips as needed for cross-platform use.
Website Support & UpdatesProvide support in maintaining an up-to-date website, including (but not limited to) homepage seasonal videos, written content, special events, alert banners, and photos.
Digital Signage ManagementCollaborate with the Marketing Assistant to ensure timely updates and accurate content are published across all interior and exterior digital display boards, as well as Village-operated digital signs.
Implement Social Media Content StrategyCollaborate with Marketing and Communications Manager on creating and publishing engaging content in line with the established social media strategy, enhancing reach and visibility across platforms.
Coordinate Email MarketingDesign and distribute email campaigns using Constant Contact, maintaining consistency in tone, branding, and visuals.
Collaborate with DepartmentsPartner with internal teams to identify marketing needs and translate them into clear, effective visual communications that support Park District programs, events, and initiatives.
Maintain Brand ConsistencyEnsure all designs and multimedia content adhere to Elk Grove Park Districts brand standards, delivering a consistent and professional visual presence.
Stay Current with Design TrendsStay informed about emerging content ideas, design, video, and multimedia trends and tools to continually improve creative execution and output quality.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
Office hours are Mon-Fri 8:30-5pm. Evenings and weekends may be required based on activities taking place in the District.
Recognize and demonstrate good knowledge and performance of organizational safety precautions and procedures including risk/crisis management.
Ability to train employees in the organization as needed on software programs you are using.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) for print and digital design.
Experience with digital marketing platforms including Facebook Business Suite, Instagram, Constant Contact, and digital signage software.
Comfortable using Google Workspace and Windows operating systems.
Strong ability to create and edit multimedia content for a variety of digital marketing channels.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, the community, and third-party partners.
Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the Park District in a positive and engaging manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or closely related field: or a combination of three to five years of work and educational experience using Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Facebook Business Suite, Constant Contact, Instagram, Google Suite, and Windows operating systems.
