Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Assistant at Lewisville Animal Hospital, you'll play a vital role in our commitment to delivering personalized care and compassion to every patient we serve. From assisting our veterinarians with medical procedures to offering comfort and reassurance to pet owners, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference each day.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures, including proper animal restraint
Maintain cleanliness by sterilizing equipment, cleaning cages, and stocking exam rooms
Perform basic medical tasks such as taking vitals, administering medications, and processing lab specimens
Keep accurate patient records, including treatment logs and appointment details
Facilitate smooth appointment flow and assist in emergency situations as needed
Provide compassionate client interactions, offering guidance on medications, wellness plans, and post-care instructions
Answer basic client questions and schedule appointments
Support additional tasks as needed to assist the veterinary team
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience
Compassion for animals and ability to handle them safely, including lifting and restraining
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Attention to detail in record-keeping and following instructions
Ability to collaborate effectively with veterinary staff
