The Change Control Manager is responsible for defining, documenting and managing change control processes, ensuring seamless coordination between manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering functions. This role ensures that all changes to all products are implemented efficiently, compliantly, and with minimal disruption to operations.

Key Responsibilities

Change Management Process Oversight: Develop, implement, and maintain robust change control processes to manage product changes from initiation to completion.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, materials management, product services, manufacturing engineering and design engineering teams to evaluate, approve, and execute change requests.

Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all changes are thoroughly documented, including impact assessments, cost analyses, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for change-related communications, providing updates to relevant departments and ensuring alignment on timelines and requirements.

Risk Assessment: Analyze potential risks associated with proposed changes, including impacts on production schedules, inventory, and supply chain, and propose mitigation strategies.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline change control processes, reduce lead times, and enhance cross-functional collaboration.

Training and Support: Train team members on change control procedures and tools, ensuring consistent adherence to established protocols.

System Management: Utilize and maintain change management software or ERP systems to track and manage change requests and approvals. Qualifications

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain management, project management or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in change management, engineering, or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in change control processes. Familiarity with ERP systems (LN preferred), Teamcenter and project management tools. Familiarity with manufacturing and supply chain operations. Experience in metric creation and reporting.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of integrating a cross-functional team and holding individuals accountable who do not report to the role.

Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, FDA) and quality management systems relevant to engineering and manufacturing.

Preferred Attributes

Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., rail, aerospace, automotive, medical devices).

Proven track record of successfully managing complex changes with cross-functional teams.

Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Environment

Full-time position, typically office-based with occasional travel to manufacturing sites or supplier locations (<10%).

Collaborative team environment requiring frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
