Job Summary
This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC routing equipment to produce high-quality signage components from various materials including acrylic, aluminum, wood, and composite panels. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC router machines based on CAD/CAM files and production specifications
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
Select appropriate materials, tooling, and machine settings for each job
Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure precision and quality
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines
Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to troubleshoot issues and improve workflow
Maintain accurate documentation of jobs, material usage, and machine logs
Ensure work area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Assist in inventory control of raw materials and tooling supplies
Key Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or CNC training preferred
Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating CNC routers in a manufacturing or signage environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of CNC machine operations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and G-code or CAM-generated programs
Familiarity with software such as VCarve, EnRoute, or similar CNC routing programs
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Basic computer literacy and math skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Skills
Experience working with materials used in sign fabrication (e.g., acrylic, aluminum, PVC)
Knowledge of sign industry standards and practices
Forklift certification
Familiarity with AutoCAD or CorelDRAW
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
