Applicants may be hired as Bake Assists, Cake Frosters, Guest Services Representatives, or a combination of the three.

Position Summary:

Cake Froster Description:

The Cake Froster makes cake frosting and frosts all cakes according to established standards and time guidelines, including cakes available for walk-in guests, pre-ordered cakes, and marketing (sample) cakes. The Cake Froster keeps the display case fully stocked, samples readily available, and maintains appropriate par levels of additional cakes. Cake Frosters keep the frosting station clean, sanitized, and running efficiently.

Guest Services Representative Description:

The Guest Services Representative serves our guests in person and over-the-phone with creative celebration solutions in a warm and welcoming environment. Guest Services Representatives assist the Crafting department, perform light cleaning, and some clerical duties.

Bake Assist Description:

The Bake Assist helps other departments as necessary, scooping cake batter, flipping cakes, folding boxes, labeling containers, etc.

Compensation:

The Bakery Associate will earn a minimum of $11.00 per hour to start. Candidates may be further compensated based on their experience, drive, ability to learn quickly, and desire to improve. Additional compensation is available, including performance bonuses and other perks!

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Bake Assist:

Scoops cake batter into cake pans

Flips baked cakes into containers and wraps large cakes to prepare for frosting

Takes empty cake pans to Utility for washing

Folds cake boxes, labels containers, etc.

Assists other departments as necessaryCake Froster:

Makes cake frosting when amount goes below par level

Frosts all cakes for same-day and next-day orders

Fold cake boxes

Keep frosting area clean and sanitized including tables, microwave, and tool bins

Assist guests placing phone orders

Assist other departments as necessaryGuest Services Representative:

Introduce walk-in guests to our bakery and our products with a guest tour

Keep case in retail area stocked with Bundtlets, 8, and 10 cakes, and back-up sample trays

Fold cake boxes

Assist guests with walk-in orders while using creative celebration solutions

Suggest balloon sales, show retail items, and up-sell with candles and cards

Assist guests placing phone orders

Give cake presentations while performing quality control tests

Operate & balance point of sale (POS) with accuracy and efficiency

Gather guest email addresses for our eClub

Maintaining a strong knowledge of NbC's products, prices, and promotions

Keep retail area clean, swept, and neatly merchandised

Dust all retail surfaces, including all counter tops, and POS stations

Perform duties assigned by Crafting department such as fluffing bows and making design pieces

Assist other departments as necessaryCandidates must be able to lift 50 pounds.
