We have an excited opportunity for an experienced and talented Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer/Manufacturing Specialist in our Middletown, CT, facility who will be responsible for the implementation of manufacturing plans and processes for new programs, support of current manufacturing programs, and the goals of cost reduction, improved quality, and an efficient delivery schedule. Strive to employ 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles in everyday work practices.

Responsibilities:

Work under the direction of the Group Leader or Supervisor with little supervision, create accurate CNC programs, using applicable tools, which support cell manufacturing techniques and standards. Assist cell leadership in the troubleshooting of machining issues and offer advice on best machining practices. Coordinate CNC Master file and regulate the information flow to and from the shop floor.

Plan and design manufacturing processes in a high rate of production environment. Prepare specifications of production operations and write work instructions; define tooling specifications for tool fabrication. Maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization.

Determine parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals in accordance with product specifications.

Interface effectively with customers in the resolution of production concerns or other issues relating to producibility, cost, and schedule.

Assist in the development of technical portions of new business proposals, including selection of manufacturing methods and production processes with estimated costs to implement. Perform make vs. buy analyses and provide related recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial or automation engineering.

Fluent oral and written communication skills as well as good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation application software needed.

Familiarity with MRP systems and ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and bills of material necessary. 5-10 years of CNC programming experience.

Knowledge of MasterCam computer aided manufacturing software required.

Education:

5-10 years of manufacturing work experience, with focus in the CNC machining field.
