Job Duties
Responsible for daily Pre-Task Planning of work performed in the field
Assist journeyman pipefitters or peers with the demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and/or installation of equipment, supports, and pipe on site
Communicate clearly verbally, digitally, and in writing
Follow all safety rules and regulations
Proactively receive mentoring from a journeyman pipefitter or Supervisors
Use hand and power tools with proper certification
Over the four-year period of the apprenticeship, learn and apply knowledge of the following:
Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems
Making and reading isometric drawings
Reading construction plans and shop drawings for pipe systems
Inspecting and testing piping systems
Piping industry codes
May be required to take Pipefitter Journeyman License Test after four years
May be required to travel
Maintain a good attendance record and comply with apprenticeship program requirements
Maintain a record of on-the-job training and submit to apprenticeship program as required
Other duties, as assigned
Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Previous construction experience
OSHA 10 preferred
Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing
Must have personal hand tools
May be required to register with the appropriate apprenticeship board as an apprentice pipefitter or welder
