Under Global leadership, the Regional Procurement Specialist manages multiple and complex categories for Major Capital Equipment (MCE), with cross-functional and regionally diverse scope. Accountable for developing and delivering projects including project plans, risk assessment and mitigations and task list . The incumbent will support regional category management and procurement functions.

Responsibilities:

Business Partnering

Engages and collaborates with business teams for regional procurement and governance

Understands stakeholder needs and builds effective relationships.

Awareness of key stakeholders across functional areas, and is able to map out stakeholder lists with guidance

Demonstrates influencing skills to achieve solutions and dealing with challenging stakeholder situations. Educates the business on procurement processes and governance

Overcommunicates when in doubt

Communications

Will provide management updates on project / program delivery status including supplier performance

Communicates with a broader group of stakeholders beyond the project team • The communication tools and templates used (i.e. emails, status reports) require approval and feedback from more senior colleagues

Negotiations

Partners regionally with business leaders, and other key stakeholders to execute capital and operational purchases that deliver cost savings, reduce supplier lead times, and improve vendor performance

Aligns with internal customers regarding best negotiation positions and provide stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilities

Directly engages suppliers at the appropriate levels to influence the best outcome for Equinix that exceeds the business requirements

Procurement Strategy

Uses wide-ranged industry experience when performing in Supplier Engagement Management incorporating risk management and innovation. -

Conducts tactical negotiations with suppliers to achieve favorable cost of ownership

Participate in supplier selection processes and drive supplier collaboration. Strategic Sourcing Drive strategic sourcing initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders and aligning sourcing with category strategy.

Communicate and implement strategy effectively throughout the relevant regional procurement teams

Cost Savings

Drives and delivers cost savings opportunities aligned with organizational commitments

Develops cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savings

Creates and maintains cost forecasts (reduction or increase) and cost-tracking for the region

Supplier Management

Leads supplier delivery management efforts, including performance evaluations and joint initiatives.

Delivers procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectives

Has basic knowledge of Equinix products/processes

Builds and maintains supplier relationships and drives improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and quality

Identify and mitigate supplier risks in the areas of financial, capacity, location, single sole source, spend, and revenue, etc.

Identifies and resolves various supplier management problems

Supports selection of new suppliers

Acts as first point of escalation for suppliers when needed

Contract Management

Responsible for all relevant documentation execution including contract SOW signature, supplier certification including insurance & ISO documents

Partners with Legal on the contract lifecycle

Manages business requirements for Order Management

Initiates supplier creation where applicable in the Source to Pay systems

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience

2+ years of relevant experience in procurement management, supply chain management, category management, technical / operations program management

Goal and team-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn & improve

Flexibility and fast adaptation to changing environment

Preferred qualifications

Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA

Demonstrated experience with large-scale industrial engineering and construction programs, preferably data centers

Experience in commodity or supply chain management, program management, and contract management

Experience working with Office Package, Power BI, Coupa, Anaplan

Strong skills in Program Management, Supplier Management and Commercial Negotiations
