This is a full-time position with varied hours between 1st and 2nd shift. Weekend availability is required. We are requesting all applicants submit a cover letter and resume when applying.

SUMMARY

Directly responsible for the overall AHC campus security operations, protecting and safeguarding all hotel guests and associates, their belongings and all hotel assets. Will oversee the day-to-day operations of the JW Marriott on site Security staff and support the entire AHC Security team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the security resources in the department.

• Respond rapidly to requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance in a professional manner.

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures across all sites.

• Position will work various shifts at multiple hotel properties.

• Responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the security department, including relationships with other departments.

• Manage day-to-day operations of the physical security team, including Managers. The lead will be the liaison between the officers, Supervisors and security Managers to the Director of Security. Support both the Director as well as the Security manager team

• Ensure that Security Managers and Supervisors are managing all shift activity, including reports and incidents, patrolling, dispatching, and completing various logs/files on activity on a daily shift.

• Act as the primary contact for outside vendors concerning security related items such as, repairs /upgrades to key access controls, CCTV, fire panel, fire suppression systems, managing insurance claims and request for documentation from local law enforcement.

• Attend administrative operational meeting with other hotel departments.

• Maintain training records, SOP's and other AHC policy and procedure documents.

• Keep the Director of Safety and Security and hotel GM's apprised of emerging security activities impacting the hotel properties.

• Oversight of the AHC Mass Notification System, following notification protocols.

• Lead by example: Provide a gracious and aggressive hospitality towards all customers. Be highly familiar and adhere to all policies, procedures and standards.

• Recognize and report safety hazards

• Handle all outstanding guest/associate concerns in regards to life safety or property damage/loss and report all necessary items to Director of Security

• Ensure compliance with hotel and security SOP/LSOP

• Observe and report any security breaches

• Ensure staff is conducting daily physical hazard inspections and daily patrols and completing all reports.

• Assist all associates with questions, problems which might occur.

• Create a productive and positive atmosphere throughout the hotel; have a good relationship with all associates and other departments.

• Empower all associates to provide an outstanding service by using their empowerment guidelines.

• Be a problem seeker and solver.

• Ensure that staff keeps work area clean, neat and organized.

• Plan meetings with AHC security team on a consistent basis.

• Determine weekly schedule, adjust according to business demands.

• Complete work or special projects as assigned and make sure to meet due dates.

• Work with Security Director and HR on potential new hires.

• Knowledgeable about human resources hiring/training practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Vehicle operator's license

Tips certification is preferred

CPR & AED Certified Preferred

Microsoft Office and Cloud Services Preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience in physical security management

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• College degree and/or hospitality related experience is preferred.

• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before guests or associates of organization.

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts or percentages.
