What you will do…
Oversee/direct daily operation of the Appalachian Hills Visitor Center (AHVC) located outside of McConnelsville, Ohio (Manchester Township)
Coordinate with the Division of Parks and Watercraft to manage and train personnel (FT/PT/volunteers) providing 1st Cast fishing experiences, tours, and special programming at the facility.
Oversee maintenance of facility (outdoor/indoor), including custodial, landscaping, snow removal, minor repairs
Oversee daily animal care of on-site bison and fish tank, enclosure maintenance and aquaria, water quality monitoring as necessary.
Develop and conduct special programs such as educational fishing, hunting, and R3 focused experiences within Appalachian Hills Wildlife Area and Jesse Owens State Park.
Assist in preparing and managing budgets, operation plans and purchasing contracts; produces activity reports as needed (daily, weekly, monthly, annual). Maintain/produce daily and ad hoc activity reports
Work weekends as needed
Starting hourly pay of $28.08 hr with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $35.07/hr.
30 mos. exp. in field of journalism or communication dealing in public multi-media techniques & relations, public speaking, news writing, reporting & editing or technical report translation & communication dealing in public meetings AND valid driver's license.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in journalism or communication AND 6 mos. exp. in public multi-media techniques & relations in field of journalism or communication AND valid driver's license.
-Or 12 mos. exp. as Public Information Specialist, 64420 AND valid driver's license.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
