Job Description
Development of settings files for SEL protection relays and other similar devices
Development of settings files for SEL RTACs, including data concentration, HMI, and logic
Integrating electrical SCADA information with OSI AspenTech or similar platforms
Perform onsite programming, field testing, and commissioning of electrical protection, control, and SCADA systems
Development of comprehensive electrical construction packages sufficient for installation of protection, control, and SCADA systems.
Maintain detailed documentation of relay settings, RTAC configurations, and system integration processes.
Provide best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as occurs
Work with applicable Project Manager(s) to ensure overall quality of commercial deliverables, budget maintenance, etc. Keep the Project Manager(s) informed of technical progress, issues, need for change orders, etc.
Assist Project Manager(s) in developing cost estimates and proposals for new project opportunities – providing technical expertise and guidance in applying cost to labor, expense, and procurement items
Travel +/- 40% with willingness to travel via air
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Completion
4-8 years’ Experience with programming and configuring SEL RTACs, including developing HMI interfaces, logic, and data concentrator functionality.
Experience in integrating electrical SCADA system with knowledge of OSI AspenTech or similar platforms for real-time monitoring and control.
Experience with electrical power relay settings generation and implementation – GE Multilin and SEL preferred
In-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as DNP3, MMS and GOOSE & familiarity with IEC 61850 family of standards.
Experience in the development of electrical construction packages comprised of at least the following:
Single Line Diagrams
Three Line Diagrams
Schematics/Elementary Diagrams
Interconnection Diagrams
Logic Diagrams
Knowledgeable of the requirements detailed in National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and IEEE 3000 Series (formerly known as color books) preferred
Experience with power system modeling tools – ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower preferred
Adept at the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
