Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure platforms. This role demands deep technical expertise in cloud services, automation, and cybersecurity management and incident response. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure our cloud environment is secure, cost-effective, and optimized for performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.

Develop infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.

Implement and maintain high availability, disaster recovery, and backup solutions in the cloud.

Ensure security best practices are followed, including encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and network security configurations.

Monitor cloud systems for performance, reliability, and security compliance using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and third-party solutions.

Respond to and manage cloud-related incidents, with a focus on security threat detection and mitigation.

Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement cloud security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS benchmarks).

Optimize cloud spend and maintain cost visibility.

Maintain up-to-date documentation of infrastructure configurations, policies, and procedures.

Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services to enhance system capabilities.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant cloud certifications strongly preferred:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, or CompTIA Security+) are a plus.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years in cloud-based infrastructure engineering.

Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud services on AWS and Azure.

Experience with cloud-native security tools and practices.

Hands-on experience in incident response, vulnerability management, and cloud compliance.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

Experience with multi-cloud environments preferred

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure architecture, including networking, virtualization, compute, and storage.

Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).

Expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including access controls, encryption, logging, and alerting.

Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC 2, GDPR, and ISO 27001.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Background in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) preferred.

Exposure to serverless technologies and event-driven architecture preferred.

Work Location and Travel:

Location is 2721 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, FL, 33801 with occasional travel to company facilities as required.

Some travel may be needed for vendor management, industry conferences, or training purposes.

Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an office environment with occasional visits to industrial sites or manufacturing plants.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where technology systems are critical to operations.

Regular interaction with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners.

Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: Occasionally needed to access low-lying cables, servers, or equipment for maintenance, troubleshooting, or inspections in data centers or IT facilities.

See: Required to review technical documents, analyze data, monitor system performance, and assess IT infrastructure for decision-making and strategic planning.

Carry, weight, Lift: Occasionally needed to transport technical equipment, documents, or devices necessary for meetings, presentations, or system assessments.

Exposure to work: involves a primarily office-based environment with occasional exposure to server rooms, data centers, and technology-related installations.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
