Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to support commercial projects from conceptual design through construction. This role requires a degreed engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience and PE license.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and analyze structural systems for commercial and industrial buildings, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
Develop and review structural drawings, calculations, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software.
Perform load calculations, stress analysis, and material selection for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures.
Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to integrate structural components into overall building designs.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess structural integrity and ensure construction compliance with design documents.
Assist in value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize design solutions and project costs.
Prepare and review engineering reports, technical documents, and construction submittals.
Stay up to date with building codes, zoning regulations, and structural engineering best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in structural engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM software (experience with structural analysis software such as RISA, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro is a plus).
Strong knowledge of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design principles.
Familiarity with IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI codes and standards.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced design-build environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
