Nuclear Med Tech - PRN

Job Description

We are currently seeking a PRN Nuclear Med Tech for our Belleville Location!

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiologist, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist independently performs a variety of routine and complex nuclear medicine scans utilizing radiopharmaceuticals for the purpose of evaluating and diagnosing abnormalities.

Functions and Duties:

Responsible for receipt, storage, handling and use of radioactive material doses.

Administers diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals.

Reviews physician order and collects patient history.

Performs imaging procedures on a gamma camera and post processing functions..

Coordinates stress test imaging with the cardiopulmonary dept.

Quality control testing on the camera, dose calibrator, room and survey meters is required.

Coordinates patient information with PACS and EMR to save data and radiation dose.

Coordinates with vendors for service and notifies manager with any equipment issues

Performs all other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

One year of experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Certified in BLS or CPR

Certified by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency in Nuclear medicine.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
