Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with hands-on experience in a food production environment. This role is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment to ensure continuous operation and compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with production, sanitation, and quality assurance teams.
Promote and follow all safety protocols and food safety practices.
Perform routine and emergency repairs on equipment and machinery during assigned shifts.
Identify necessary tools, parts, and materials required for timely repairs.
Respond to and complete maintenance requests and work orders efficiently.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance tasks.
Independently inspect, disassemble, and repair complex machinery and production systems.
Diagnose issues, replace worn or damaged components, and restore equipment to optimal condition.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience working on industrial equipment in a food manufacturing environment is required.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; ability to use diagnostic tools such as a multimeter.
Capable of welding (MIG and stick) and proficient in using metal cutting equipment (e.g., plasma cutter, torch).
Experience with motor controls, VFDs, and general electrical troubleshooting.
Familiarity with automated systems, PLCs, sensors, and valves is highly desirable.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a maintenance role within the food processing or food manufacturing industry.
Technical diploma or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred (e.g., electrician, mechanic, refrigeration tech).
