PLASMA/OXY BURN TABLE OPERATOR - Nights - Paducah, KY

Type: Temp-to-Hire

Shift: Night shift, 4:30 pm - 1:00 am

Summary: Under the supervision of the Processing Manager, this position primarily operates and maintains the

Plasma Cutting Table, Oxy Burn Table, and related tools and equipment. This position may also perform other

production activities, including but not limited to supporting the production team by helping within the

Processing Department, receive training on other equipment in other departments, as well as cleaning and

maintaining equipment and the shop floor.

Daily Job Activities:

Operate the CNC Plasma and/or Oxy cutting machines

Select and set up nozzles and/or cutting tips based on material type and thickness, load programs, set

machine parameters and proper fixtures to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.

Monitor process gases, and report reordering levels.

Operate overhead crane with chains, hooks, straps, or other lifting devices in a safe manner

Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines and equipment as required.

Perform all dimensional inspections.

Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.

Must be able to operate with minimal supervision once trained by following work instructions and

Standard Operating Procedures.

Always wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules.

Required Minimum Experience: Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to use/read tape measures.

Working knowledge of using calipers & micrometers a plus. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written

instructions. Proficient using a PC in a Windows environment. Simple shop math.

Preferred Education and Experience: Experience using Messer Plasma system and/or Oxy Burn Table. Two or

more year of related shop experience, preferably in a steel fabrication environment. Experience with Sigmanest

software. Experience with 2D/3D CAM/CAD software and Graphics Design software a plus.

Must wear lace-up steel toe boots (metatarsal guards provided) and Must follow all safety protocols — safety glasses and hard hats provided
