Drayage Dispatcher

Job Description

Responsible for coordinating the movement of shipping containers between ports, rail yards, and customer locations through effective communication with drivers, customers, and port/terminal personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule and dispatch drayage drivers for container pickups and deliveries

Coordinate with terminals, ports, and rail yards for container availability

Manage driver assignments and route planning to maximize efficiency

Track shipments and provide status updates to customers

Resolve operational issues and delays in real-time

Maintain documentation and records of all transportation activities

Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and port requirements

Qualifications

Previous dispatching experience, preferably in drayage or trucking

Knowledge of port/terminal operations and container transportation

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency with transportation management systems

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Experience in Profit Tools is required

Work Environment

Full-time position in a dynamic logistics office.
