Residential Aide

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor residents and facility to ensure safety, order, and compliance with shelter rules and policies.

Conduct regular facility checks, including room inspections and common areas, to ensure cleanliness and security.

Support daily operations such as meal distribution, chore assignments, and supply inventory.

Assist residents with basic needs including bedding, hygiene items, and transportation coordination.

Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed, following trauma-informed practices.

Document daily activity, incidents, and resident interactions using shelter logs and reporting systems.

Collaborate with case managers, security personnel, and administrative staff to support resident progress and safety.

Participate in team meetings and required trainings.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold resident rights and dignity at all times.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Prior experience working in a residential, social service, or shelter setting preferred.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.

Familiarity with populations experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use issues is a plus.Company Description
