Essential Job Functions:
Wiring of segmented hex carbide inserts
Wiring of carbide inserts to be pressed into steel cases
Ability to float between a few different departments
Knowledge of Mitsubishi and/or Fanuc EDM machines is preferred but not a must!
May perform any or all the following functions:
Study blueprints to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate carbide die assemblies and carbide inserts
Compute dimensions and determine assembly method and sequence of operations if not stated on the routing
Sets up and operates machine tools, such as CNC lathes, EDM wire machines, Manual lathes, OD grinders, Surface grinders, Blanchard grinders, Carbide Cut Off machines and Reamer grinders to machine parts
Verify dimensions using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, comparators and contracers
Perform and document in-process inspection
Report any discrepancies (part shortage, quality issues, paperwork problems) to a supervisor before moving any parts to another workstation
Initiate process improvements and motivate peers to achieve team goals
Meet established individual goals
Maintain workstation in a clean, safe and orderly manner
Education and Certification/Licensure Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
0 - 2 Years of manufacturing experience, ideally in the cold forming industry
Technical Proficiency:
Basic math skills
Physical Demands:
Stand for extended periods of time, bend, and reach for tools, file, and other supplies
Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects tools, and controls for extended periods of time
Make repetitive motions for extended periods of time; and talk and hear
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
Must be able to see up close and at a distance, as well as use peripheral vision and depth perception
Walking is required throughout the day
