Sterile Processing Tech

Job Description

Pride Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-weeks contract position in Columbus, OH.

Position Details:

Location: 410 W 10th Ave, Columbus, OH 43210

Pay: $1150 - $1280 per week

Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM with rotating weekends and occasional scheduled holidays

Hours: 40 hours per week 8-hour Mid shifts

Start date: ASAP

Duration: (13-week contract)

Job Responsibilities:

Decontamination of surgical tools and devices, including drills, DaVinci robotic components, and scopes

Assembly of instrument trays across all service lines, including trauma sets and loaners; ensure proper peel packaging

Sterilization of instruments using steam (autoclave) and STERRAD systems

Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and manage endoscope processing

Maintain sterile storage areas and ensure proper inventory rotation

Serve as an Operating Room (OR) liaison, coordinating real-time instrument needs during procedures

Utilize Censitrac tracking system for instrument identification, documentation, and workflow tracking

Follow all AAMI, OSHA, and hospital protocols for infection control, sterilization standards, and documentation compliance

Collaborate with surgical teams and other departments to support patient care

Requirements:

Education:

High School diploma or GED

Completion of Central Sterile coursework

Certification: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician)

Experience:

Prior experience in a large, high-acuity medical center is required—Level One trauma experience strongly preferred

Technical Skills: Proficiency in STERRAD and steam sterilization, HLD, instrument assembly, and tracking system use (Censitrac)

Skills:

Basic computer, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Strong knowledge of sterile processing, OSHA standards, and aseptic techniques

Certifications & Licensure:

Sterile Processing Certification.

Note: Local candidates within 30 miles are eligible.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credit.
