CDL Class A Driver / Shop Maintenance Laborer

Job Description

Whittenberg Construction, a leading commercial construction company with a strong reputation in concrete and structural work, is seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Class A Driver / Shop Maintenance Laborer to join our operations team. This dual-role position involves operating a truck and trailer for deliveries, as well as performing hands-on maintenance and labor duties in our shop when not driving.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a truck and trailer with a GVW of 26,000 lbs or more

Load, secure, and unload materials and equipment at job sites and company locations

Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

Complete smaller deliveries using a pickup truck as needed

Assist with general shop labor, including cleaning, organizing, tool management, and light repairs

Support basic truck and trailer maintenance and upkeep

Collaborate with the logistics and field teams to support ongoing construction projects

Qualifications:

Valid CDL Class A license

Proven experience driving commercial vehicles, preferably in construction or similar industries

Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy materials as needed

Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to safety

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
