Bayonne Hospital in Bayonne, NJ is seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine physician to fill the role of Emergency Department Medical Director. This position combines both clinical leadership and administrative oversight in a dynamic and high-volume environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the operations of the Emergency Department, while also providing hands-on patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership: Direct patient care in the Emergency Department, guiding a team of physicians, midlevels, and support staff to ensure high-quality, efficient care.

Administrative Oversight: Manage departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and performance metrics.

Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve patient care, reduce wait times, and ensure quality and safety standards adherence.

Collaboration: Work closely with hospital administration, nursing staff, and other medical directors to align ED operations with hospital-wide goals and strategies.

Mentorship: Foster a culture of continuous learning by mentoring physicians, residents, and midlevel providers.

Acuity: High, with a focus on levels 1, 2, 3

Requirements:

Board-certified in Emergency Medicine

Proven experience in emergency department leadership and administration

Strong communication and decision-making skills

Ability to manage both clinical and administrative duties
