A*K-12 school in Waukegan, IL is seeking a dedicated Counselor to support students overall well-being and academic success for the duration of the school year. This role is crucial in providing guidance, resources, and emotional support to help students navigate their educational journeys.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students on a range of issues, including academic challenges, social skills, and emotional difficulties.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Develop and implement programs to promote mental health awareness and wellness in the school.
Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and track progress.
Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergency situations.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation as required by the school.
Qualifications:
Masters degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Valid state counseling license or certification.
Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school setting.
Strong interpersonal and munication skills to build relationships with students and staff.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
