Are you a professional mechanic who provides exceptional service? Well, we are looking for you to join our team to play a key role in the success of our business.

Fleet management is an integral part of keeping our county progressing forward with a mission to respond rapidly and effectively to the transportation needs of County departments and agencies.

What Would You Do?

Diagnosis/repair of engine, fuel system, drive train, steering, brakes, and suspension components on hydraulic systems, medium duty diesel / gas pick up trucks, golf carts, trailers, and other smaller equipment just to name a few

Diagnosis/repair of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems

Use of precision diagnostic tools and measuring devices to aid in the diagnosis and repair of the above-mentioned systems and components

Diagnosis and repair of air conditioning systems.

Electronic and engine diagnosis utilizing sophisticated diagnostic equipment.

Programming electronic components in equipment.

Performs related work as assigned or required.

What Do You Need To Have?

Fleet Mechanic 1

One (1) year of journeyman level experience in the maintenance and repair of automobiles, light duty trucks, and small equipment; or

An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Mobile Air Conditioning Society certification and/or ASE air condition certification.

Possession and maintenance of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) A4 Suspension and Steering and A5 Brakes within one (1) year following date of hire.

Possession and maintenance of a Florida Commercial Driver’s License Class B within 1 year of employment with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report.

Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.

Other knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials required for a specific position.

Fleet Mechanic 2

Three (3) years of journeyman level experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive and medium duty trucks and equipment; or

An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Possession and maintenance of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) A4 Suspension and Steering and A5 Brakes within one (1) year following date of hire.

Mobile Air Conditioning Society certification and/or ASE air condition certification.
