Job Title: Gluer/Folder Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Gluer/Folder Machine Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating machinery to bind books and other printed materials, ensuring high-quality production standards are met.

Responsibilities

Review work orders to determine instructions and specifications for bindery work.

Examine stitched, collated, bound, or unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect bindings, ink spots, torn pages, loose pages, or uncut threads.

Perform hand bindery of products including kitting and collating.

Trim edges to size using cutting machines, trimming machines, or hand cutters.

Stitch or glue endpapers, bindings, backings, or signatures using sewing machines, glue machines, or glue and brushes.

Inspect products and decide to accept or reject them to maintain the quality level.Essential Skills

Mechanically inclined.

Experience in printing press and machine operation.

Knowledge of bindery and hand bindery processes.

Ability to troubleshoot and set up machines.

1+ years of experience in printing or bindery work.

Proficient in reading and writing English.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced printing environment that is equipped with heating and air conditioning, though temperatures may fluctuate when dock doors are open. The environment is loud, but the facility is well-lit and clean.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $45760.00/yr.
