A dynamic opportunity exists for dedicated professionals in the field of social work within an educational setting. This position focuses on fostering positive social and emotional development for students in a K-12 environment, emphasizing the importance of mental health and behavioral support.

Location: Abilene, KS

Job Duration: Contract for the school year

Responsibilities:

Provide direct and indirect social work services as outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), tailoring approaches to meet students' social/emotional and behavioral needs.

Conduct psychosocial assessments for initial evaluations and re-evaluations, including record reviews and classroom observations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to make placement decisions and develop intervention plans that address student requirements.

Utilize knowledge of family dynamics and social concerns to identify barriers to effective learning and provide strategies for overing these challenges.

Assist in pleting necessary paperwork, including IEP documents and assessment summaries, ensuring pliance with required timelines.

Attend and participate in IEP meetings, offering insights and updates on student progress regarding social/emotional and behavioral goals.

Implement and support behavioral strategies, aiding staff in the development of Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans.

Maintain open munication with parents/guardians and collaborate with area agencies to enhance student support.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) and a valid Kansas License to Practice.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Proficient in managing multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines.

Knowledgeable about IEP processes and related documentation requirements.

Experience with crisis intervention and developing behavioral support plans.
