About the Role

Liquid Environmental Solutions is hiring a Plant Operator for our non-municipal wastewater treatment facility in Phoenix. This role is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to work in an industrial environment focused on environmental safety and waste processing.

We intake truckloads of various types of non-hazardous wastewater and use advanced industrial equipment to process the material for safe disposal or recycling. Our plant runs on teamwork, mechanical precision, and safety-first thinking.

Location: 5159 W Van Buren St, Phoenix, AZ

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 2:30 PM and 2pm to 10pm shifts (Some Saturdays may be required)

Starting Pay: $22/hr+ (based on skills and experience)

What We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds. You don’t need prior wastewater experience to apply—but mechanical aptitude and industrial mindset are a must.

Minimum Qualifications (you should meet one or more of these):

Operated equipment in manufacturing or production environments (e.g., food processing, plastics, packaging).

Experience using tools, forklifts, or basic maintenance responsibilities.

Construction or general labor background with exposure to piping, water systems, or valves.

Willingness to work outdoors and around odors in hot, wet, or dirty conditions.

Preferred Experience (ideal candidates will have one or more of these):

Plant Experience:

Experience in non-municipal wastewater, grease trap/septic facilities, or chemical treatment plants

Industrial plant work involving fluid handling, tank monitoring, or regulated waste

Mechanical Skills:

Hands-on work with DAF machines, centrifuges, filter presses, or other industrial systems

Previous roles as a maintenance tech, auto/diesel mechanic, HVAC tech, stationary engineer, or similar

Ability to perform basic diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and fluid system troubleshooting

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial wastewater processing equipment

Safely handle incoming loads and ensure proper tank assignment

Clean and maintain processing areas and equipment

Assist with preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs

Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment (training provided)

Follow safety and compliance protocols at all times

Work Environment

On your feet most of the day
