We are excited to be adding a Shipper to the MAC Trailer Team. Our Shipper verifies and maintains records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of products. This job offers a safe, clean work environment with a team that takes pride in their products.
Please note that shift hours are Monday - Friday 8am – 5pm with additional overtime.

What you will do:
Perform and abide by safety policies and procedures while performing related assignments
Review inventory documentation and information related to assignments to ensure products are delivered to and from inventory control accurately and within guidelines
Perform assigned work to contribute to material, parts and products produced according to MAC Manufacturing’s quality and quantity standards while supporting a safe environment
Perform, understand, comprehend, and communicate basic math functions primarily related to measurement, piece count, and inventory control
Communicate issues of concern and any other pertinent information that affects the productive completion of quality products, schedule of products, and safety to inventory and production management
Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials
Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or non-conformance to specifications
Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter
Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins
Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped
Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list
Clean and keep organized work areas during and at the end of the shift
Organize and restock needed parts and materials
Assist other employees as needed and instructed.

Education and/or Experience
1 year certificate from college or technical school preferred
Or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience or knowledge in tractor trailer building is preferred
Inventory experience or knowledge is preferred
Previous shipping experience is preferred
Experience in manufacturing-related field is preferred
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to work outside in all seasons of weather
Ability to work in an warehouse or manufacturing environment
Ability to see details at close range while reviewing inventory information
Ability to grasp and manipulate small and large items
Ability to push, pull, and lift various materials including aluminum, steel and parts
Ability to maneuver self in order to view safe operation of load and obstructions of material and/or pedestrians
Demonstrated ability to successfully maneuver, lift, and climb, in similar or same work environment as required for the position or job duty
Position Tiers:
Tier 1: Employees in this tier are new to the position. Employee is under direct supervision as they learn the skills and duties of the position.
Tier 2: Employees in this position have developed the skills required to perform the job. There is supervisor involvement checking completed work for quality.
Tier 3: Employees in this position have mastered the skills required to perform the job. The individual does not need direct supervision and is responsible for training new employees in the department.
