Controller
Location: Irvine, CA
Compensation: $175,000 – $225,000 base + up to 20% bonus Unlimited PTO Outstanding Benefits
A high-growth company in the financial services sector is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function. This is a pivotal role, overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiencies while partnering with executive leadership on business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Compliance
Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and controls.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in compliance with GAAP.
Manage tax, audit, and compliance processes, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Operational & Strategic Oversight
Develop and refine financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support scalability and efficiency.
Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes for improved accuracy and productivity.
Team Development & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is a plus.
Big 4 experience beneficial
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, including leadership roles managing teams.
Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software for reporting and analysis.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of optimizing financial processes and implementing automation.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams.
Experience working in dynamic, high-growth environments where adaptability and strategic thinking are essential.
