This role works closely with the Information Security (InfoSec) team to translate security policies into technical network solutions and ensure their successful deployment and enforcement across hybrid environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in network security technologies, architecture frameworks, and the practical application of zero-trust and segmentation strategies at scale.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Architecture & Design:**
+ Design and maintain enterprise network security architectures that support segmentation, secure remote access, cloud connectivity, and perimeter defense.
+ Develop network security design standards for Next Generation firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, IDS/IPS, NAC, Segmentation, and zero trust frameworks.
+ Create reference architectures and implementation blueprints that align with enterprise security strategies and cloud-native models.
+ Security Policy Execution:
+ Collaborate directly with the InfoSec team to understand security policies, controls, and governance requirements.
+ Translate InfoSec policies into actionable technical configurations and enforce them through network infrastructure.
+ Partner with InfoSec during security assessments, audits, and risk mitigation efforts to ensure alignment across teams.
+ Project Oversight:
+ Provide security architecture oversight for infrastructure projects, ensuring security principles are incorporated throughout design and implementation phases.
+ Lead design reviews, threat modeling, and secure configuration validation for all major network changes.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration:
+ Work closely with IT Operations, Cloud Engineering, Application Security, and Identity teams to integrate security throughout all layers of the network.
+ Act as a technical advisor in selecting and deploying network and security technologies in coordination with enterprise architecture and procurement teams.
+ Governance & Compliance:
+ Ensure designs meet regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX) and contribute to enterprise compliance reporting.
+ Maintain documentation of security designs, configurations, and operational standards.
**Required Qualifications:**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required
+ Experience:
+ 10+ years in network engineering or architecture, including 5+ years focused on security architecture in large enterprise environments.
+ Hands-on experience with major security platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, Zscaler, Fortinet, Aruba ClearPass).
+ Proven experience translating InfoSec requirements into technical solutions and deploying those solutions at scale.
+ Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and securing hybrid network topologies.
+ Load Balancing experience is a plus
+ Certifications (Preferred):
+ CISSP, CCIE Security, CCNP Security, or relevant cloud security certifications.
**Skills & Competencies:**
+ Deep understanding of network protocols, threat vectors, segmentation strategies, and enterprise security architecture.
+ Extensive experience collaborating with Architecture outside of Network and Security (Storage, Server, Desktop, Application)
+ Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working with InfoSec and cross-functional technical teams.
+ Ability to lead discussions on policy enforcement, risk mitigation, and technical solution design with both technical and executive stakeholders.
+ Ability to drive peers and shareholders towards timeline sensitive deliverables, while providing communication both to leadership and SMEs around needs and status
+ Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation approaches for scalable policy enforcement.
