Reports To: Regional Coding Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Specialty Coder Senior – Cardiology to join our team in a remote, full-time capacity. This position is temporary-to-permanent, with a focus on high-dollar and specialty Inpatient or Outpatient cardiology accounts. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of coding proficiency and accuracy and be equipped to work independently in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT coding for Inpatient and/or Outpatient cardiology services.

Maintain a consistent coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.

Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to ensure accurate code assignment and data abstraction.

Accurately enter coded data into electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Validate patient dispositions and physician attribution according to official coding guidelines (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, AMA CPT).

Collaborate with HIM professionals and Clinical Documentation Specialists to support complete and compliant physician documentation.

Assist in reducing billing denials through accurate and thorough coding practices.

Contribute to other departmental needs as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of medical coding experience, with a specialty in cardiology preferred.

Full-time availability required.

Must have a personal laptop and dual monitors for a remote work setup.

Certification must be verified online via professional coding credentialing organizations (profiles without verification will be rejected).

Must reside in TX, LA, AR, GA, or NM to be considered.

Certifications (Required):

Current, active medical coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA).

Certification must be verifiable online.

Work Environment:

Fully remote position.

Requires a reliable internet connection and the ability to work independently.
