We currently have an opening for a Software Engineer/Control System Specialist in the Process Control Division, located at the Mon Valley Works. This role could cover any of our facilities including Edgar Thomson Works, Irvin Works, or Clairton Works. As an integral part of this highly skilled, innovative team, you will play a significant role in supporting our digital transformation and system modernization strategy while providing critical services to our production operations. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of digital solutions and process control systems.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to our digital transformation by participating in the design, development, configuration, deployment and support of digital solutions
Participate in, and / or lead high impact projects that provide financial benefits that result in improvements to safety, quality, and / or production yield
Work closely with the operations teams to understand requirements and identify improvement opportunities; translate into project specifications, including work estimates and forecasted benefits
Design and maintain highly available and error resistant applications and systems that support Clairton Works, Edgar Thomson Works or Irvin Works
Play a key role in the new design and maintenance of modern supervisory and control systems
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Software Engineer / Developer with minimum of 1-2 years of experience developing in Java, C, C#, C++, R, and/or Python. Knowledge of the Visual Studio IDE. Comfortable with both Linux/Unix and Windows environments. Programming experience in Ladder Logic and/or Control Block Language. Ability to read P&ID and electrical schematics. Experience with SCADA/HMI systems.
Development experience in Citect, Ignition, Allen-Bradley (Micrologix, PLC5, ControlLogix etc.) a plus
Experience with Tableau a plus
Experience with SQL and Oracle a plus
Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting a plus
PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Effective oral and verbal communication, team player
Initiative to generate improvement ideas
Motivation to maintain a high level of productivity and self-direction
Desire to learn established systems for purposes of modernization and support
