Summary
The Section of General Internal Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Associate to lead the daily operations of our Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic at the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center McNair Campus. The Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic comprises of 11 internal medicine providers. As the Clinical Operations Associate, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage daily operations, assist with daily operational requests (patient complaints, insurance questions, etc.), and analyze clinical metrics in order to identify and address challenges.
With over 250 faculty and staff, the section of General Internal Medicine is one of the largest and most diverse in mission and faculty in the Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine. Our multi-disciplinary faculty members provide a broad range of clinical services, educational leadership, scholarly efforts, and service to the community. Our section members work as hospitalists, outpatient primary care physicians, emergency center clinicians, pharmacists, and public health experts across the greater Houston area.
The GIM Clinic at the McNair Campus is a high-volume primary care clinic. This role, under the supervision of the clinical operations manager will handle the day-to-day operations of the clinic.
Job Duties
Ensures that practice operations and team members are knowledgeable of and in compliance with applicable regulatory, licensing and accrediting agency standards.
Implements clinic communications strategies and promotes effective communication dialogue with providers and staff through regularly scheduled meetings.
Assists with maintaining clinical operations during technology downtimes, inclement weather, and other unplanned events.
Assumes responsibility for the onboarding and orientation of clinic staff
Conducts preliminary investigation of RL6 and customer service complaints, service recovery program
Ensures that patient concerns/complaints are addressed within 24-48 hours
Maintains QGenda for the outpatient GIM physicians
Liaisons with other services to schedule patients within GIM
Works with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) central revenue cycle to support and troubleshoot billing issues.
Develops, prepares, and interprets program data to provide actionable reports for physician leadership and section administration.
Identifies opportunities for business and clinical process improvement and manages process improvement projects.
Develops plans for improving utilization of resources and maintaining practice efficiency while seeking to minimize operational costs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of Excel.
Process Improvement experience.
Credentialing experience.
