Our client is seeking a qualified Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys. The individual will conduct legal research, investigate facts, and prepare legal documents in support of legal proceedings, defenses, or legal actions. The position operates under the direct supervision of an attorney and requires a strong understanding of legal processes, terminology, and documentation.
Read, review, and edit Recommended Decisions prior to Committee review
Review revisions with Administrative Law Judges as needed
Review Exhibit Lists for accuracy
Review and issue Final Determinations
Review, correct, and issue Defaults resulting from Pre-Hearing Conferences
Email issued Decisions to the Administrative Litigation Unit
Regularly check emails and address inquiries, requests for adjournments, attorney representation letters, etc.
Update calendars and file correspondence and emails
Answer telephones as needed
Assist the Director of the Hearings Unit as directed
Support the Administrative Specialist 1 as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
Paralegal certification is required
At least two (2) years of experience providing complex clerical-level legal support to an attorney or working on contested cases under attorney supervision
Knowledge of legal terminology, legal forms, legal research methods, and legal procedures
Ability to interpret laws, legal documents, and complex written materials
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with office software and legal research tools
