The School of Engineering at Brown University has a new and exciting opportunity to hire a Research Assistant.

The Research Assistant (RA) will support the experimental study of cavity formation during air-water entry of rigid and flexible objects impacting an unsteady free-surface. RA activities will require design and construction of an experimental apparatus, visualization using a high-speed camera, image processing, data analysis, mathematical modeling, and preparing reports for manuscripts or conference presentations. The work will be completed in collaboration and with assistance from others in the lab, but primarily independently.

The successful candidate, as a minimum, should have the following background:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from accredited program. Some research experience is required, such as that gained in the course of acquiring a Bachelor's degree

Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications.

Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety guidelines and laboratory protocols.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong customer service and oral and written communication skills.
